Ele's Place

Ele’s Place is planning to expand and would like signs for a couple more rooms. If you have any of the information that we used before, please bring it to the next meeting or send it to Anne. Your help would be greatly appreciated and save a lot of time recreating what we did before.

Membership

A reminder to everyone, chapter dues are due in January for 2007. If you don't plan on attending the January meeting please send your dues to Dawn by then.  If you have questions on this please email me.

Art Show Display

As Anne stated in her message, the art show at Fountain Street Church was a great success. In spite of the late invitation to participate, we were beautifully represented by the work of Anne Lewis, Dawn Gribben and Mary Maguire.

Remember, there is talk underway about us having our own show in 2008! For this we will want to pull out all the stops and show some of our larger pieces such as wall hangings, rugs, etc. too so start stitching, ladies, we may become famous!

ANG Workshop By Mail

The first offering of 2007 is Block Island Lighthouse, by well-known designer and teacher Michele Roberts. A famous landmark off the East coast, the Block Island Lighthouse is standing in deep heather, a perfect subject for the sea-themed canvaswork that was a portion of Michele’s Royal School requirement. This needlework was taught at the 2005 ANG Seminar in Nashville, Tennessee.

ANG CyberWorkshop

Inspired by the beauty and romance of historic Woodlawn Plantation, Nelly's Sewing Box pays homage to a quiet, gentle age where needlework played a prominent role in a lady's household. This unique sewing box combines both traditional and innovative techniques of counted thread embroidery with metal thread embroidery, beadwork, pulled thread, pattern darning, scrollwork and lettering.
